In the heart of a small Austrian town, a café awaited a fresh start. The space had been a café before, but it needed a new identity—one that reflected warmth, comfort, and a sense of belonging.
Our first challenge was the layout. The existing 2D plan lacked flow, so we reimagined the space, introducing an open and inviting design. One of the biggest obstacles was the two large columns standing in the middle of the café. Rather than seeing them as barriers, we embraced them—transforming one into a functional element that seamlessly blended with the interior.
To enhance the sense of openness, we redesigned the ceiling, making the space feel airier and more welcoming. The owner envisioned a cozy atmosphere, so we carefully curated furniture from local online shops, selecting budget-friendly yet stylish pieces that complemented the warm and minimal aesthetic.
Beyond serving coffee, she wanted to support local artisans and offer vegan products. To bring this vision to life, we designed a custom display stand right in front of the cashier—turning it into a focal point for her carefully selected local goods.
The result? A café that feels like home—where every detail tells a story of thoughtful transformation, sustainability, and a deep connection to the local community.
